Today we have Prisha & Himal’s Indian Wedding video at Down Hall Country House Hotel in Hertfordshire. We started the day with the families meeting at the front of Down Hall, with Himal arriving on a Horse and Doll Drummers leading the way. Very cool! Then we made our way to the Marquee in the garden for their Indian Wedding. It was such a lovely ceremony. Afterwards we headed into the grounds of Down Hall for some nice shots of the newlyweds’. Then it was back to the Marquee for the Vidai. But just before the Vidai was one of my favourite parts of the day. The traditional Fishing the Ring game, which I have filmed so many times and always love. The idea of this game is to find out who will rule the roost for the rest of their lives. The wedding ring is placed in a bowl of milk with lots of other little objects and swirled around. Then the newly weds are asked to put their hands in and find the ring as quick as they can and whoever finds the ring first is declared the winner. Then followed the Vidai where they said there goodbyes and made their way outside where to a Horse and Carriage was waiting. Once they returned to Down Hall it was time for the wedding reception, cake cutting and Speeches. So here are Himal & Prisha’s Wedding video Highlights from their day at Down Hall.
A few thoughts from Himal & Prisha
1) Tell us about your wedding day?
Our wedding and reception took place at the scenic Down Hall Country House Hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed preparing for our big day and despite the workload we had minimal stress and would happily do it again. After an emotional morning wedding we were able to really let loose at our reception in the evening. The party continued into the early hours with the main reception being followed up by a pyjama after-party.
2) What were your most memorable moments?
When we first saw each other under the mandap as we were unveiled to one another. Being waved goodbye to as a married couple by all our close friends and family. The wedding speeches which ranged from being sweet and sentimental to the outlandish!
3) What do you love about being married?
Having someone who you can share your burdens with and who can make you laugh when you’re down. Being able to spend every day with my best friend!
4) What advice can you give for others getting married?
Learn how to agree to disagree, and appreciate each other’s differences. “Date” each other; do not let everyday life interfere with you spending quality time together as a couple. Take every chance to go out or engage in activities that keeps the relationship fresh.
