Pithi and Grah Shanti Ceremonies – So much fun!
Rina & Neal both had their Manglik Prasango, Pithi and Grah Shanti Ceremonies on the same day at the same time so Joy and I went in separate directions in order to record their busy day. I went to Neal’s family in Leicester to photograph their pre-wedding preparations (Manglik Prasango) and Joy headed to Rugby. When I got their Neal’s mum was busy with the decorating, the house and the marquee looked fantastic, with video and photography all the little details make a big difference. In the house the priest led them in the Grah Shanti (Fire ceremony). At one point the room got so hot that I thought I was going to pass out! Afterwards we headed into the marquee for the Pithi where Neal’s family and friends covered him in tumeric Paste. I’ve done lots of these little ceremonies before and this was definitely my favourite ever! I was laughing so much when they got the hose pipe out to wash him down! Made for some hilarious photos further down the page. Anyway, here’s some of my favourite photos from the day. It was a great day, thoroughly enjoyed it! Thanks Shaun
